I am now taking students for music lessons. Contact me to schedule your free introductory lesson!
Why take lessons with me
I believe that learning music is most rewarding when a student can express themself through a broad musical palate. To achieve this, my teaching focuses on fostering creativity and providing an expansive, holistic music education with a focus on the musical styles you love. Whether you’re just starting out and eager to explore, an instrumentalist looking for a different kind of music education, or a composer/songwriter/creative looking to grow, I’m excited to join you in your musical journey. Together we will develop your knowledge of music, practice strategies, and creativity.
I’m a music teacher with four years of experience teaching students of ages 4 through 30 in classrooms and privately. I have presented on my teaching philosophy at the 2023 Teaching Composition conference, led training sessions on Creativity Studies and Youth Development for non-profits in the Bay Area, and consulted for private music teachers looking to incorporate more creative activities in their lessons.
What to expect
I teach violin and viola, as well as beginner piano. All of my lessons include music theory, ear training, and composition in order to build a well-rounded curriculum and promote creativity. I’m also happy to work with you in composition without an instrumental component.
Lessons can take place virtually, or in-person in the San Francisco Bay Area. I am currently free most afternoons as well as Wednesday and Friday evenings for teaching.
My rates are as follows:
- $45 for a 30-minute lesson
- $60 for a 45-minute lesson
- $75 for a 60-minute lesson
Please let me know if cost is a barrier and we can see if we can make an arrangement.
